Description

Preah Palilay is enclosed by a 50 meter square laterite wall, accessed on the eastern side by a gopura decorated with Buddhist carvings. This gopura is attached by a causeway to a terrace bordered with excellent naga balustrades. At the center of the compound is a sandstone sanctuary on a three-tiered base. The sanctuary is five meters square and opens to each of the cardinal directions.
